5. FAQ

Tracker App

The Tracker app is a real-time monitoring tool for supervisors, operations managers, or any stakeholder who needs to watch live job progress without being in the Driver or Contractor app. On the Home tab it shows a live map of the active driver, the driver's current job status, pick-up and drop-off progress, and — via the top-bar icons — chat and any alerts or notifications generated by the platform.

The home screen shows a map but no driver — why?

The map shows the active driver's position, which appears only when a driver has an active job and has location sharing enabled. If no driver is shown, either no driver has started a job yet for the current period, or the app has not yet received a location update. The map refreshes automatically about every 30 seconds; you can also pull down to refresh. If it stays empty and a driver is expected to be active, check with the contractor to ensure their driver has started the job in the Driver app and has location permissions set to "Always Allow".

The driver's map pin is grey — what does that mean?

The colour of the driver's map pin indicates how recently their location was updated. A green pin means the location was updated within the last 30 minutes. An orange pin means the last update was between 30 minutes and 4 hours ago. A grey pin means no update has been received for more than 4 hours (or ever). A grey pin does not mean the driver is offline — it may mean their device has limited connectivity. The marker also shows a short freshness label ("Just now", "5m ago", and so on), and fleet drivers are drawn with a purple marker body. Contact the driver or their contractor for confirmation.

What does "Attendance not started" mean on a job card?

This label appears when no attendance record exists yet for a transfer. The assigned driver has not yet confirmed they have started the pick-up process for that job leg. Once the driver begins the job in their app, the status automatically updates with the relevant time and colour code.

What do the coloured clock icons mean next to a transfer?

The clock icon shows the attendance status for that transfer. Orange means the driver has started the job but has not yet confirmed the guest pick-up. Blue means the guest has been picked up and the trip is in progress. Green means the transfer has been completed. Red means a no-show report has been filed for this transfer. Tap the clock icon to see the exact timestamp.

The Calendar shows no jobs for a date I selected — is something wrong?

The Calendar only shows jobs that have transfers scheduled on or overlapping the selected date. If no jobs appear, either no transfers are scheduled for that date or the local data has not yet synced. Pull down to refresh, or tap a nearby date to verify the data is loading correctly. If transfers are expected but still missing after refreshing, there may be a data sync delay — wait a few minutes and try again.

Will I be asked to confirm before logging out?

No. Tapping Log out on the Profile tab signs you out immediately with no confirmation dialog. Your session is cleared and you are returned to the login screen.

Will I be asked to confirm before deleting my account?

Yes. On the Profile tab, tap Account → Delete Account to open a bottom-sheet panel with a "Cancel" button and a Delete Account button. Your data is kept for 30 days, during which you can reactivate by emailing us; after 30 days all personal information is permanently obfuscated and cannot be recovered.

What happens when I delete a notification?

Swiping a notification away removes it immediately without a confirmation prompt, but a "Notification deleted — tap to undo" toast appears for a few seconds so you can restore it. Jobs and transfers referenced in that notification remain visible through the Calendar and Home screens regardless.

I received a notification but tapping it does nothing — why?

Push notifications navigate you to the relevant screen only when the app is in the background. If you tap a notification banner while the app is in the foreground, the navigation may not trigger. Open the Notification screen from the bell icon in the Home top bar and tap the notification there to view its detail.

What error messages might I see if the app loses connectivity?

Common messages include "Connection Error" (no network route to the server), "Connection Timeout" (the server did not respond in time), "Request Timeout" (the request timed out before sending), and a rate-limit message when too many requests are made in a short period. These messages appear as toast notifications and disappear automatically. Check your network connection, pull down to refresh, and retry the action.

The home screen shows "No Jobs Today" — is that normal?

Yes. The Home tab shows "No Jobs Today" (or "Nothing scheduled right now") when there are no jobs with a stay or transfer that overlaps the current date window. This is normal outside of peak operational periods. Use the Calendar tab to check jobs scheduled on specific future dates.

The app shows my account as inactive — what do I do?

If your account has been set to inactive by a Rectrix Link administrator, the Account Inactive screen is displayed. The screen shows the status name and description set by the administrator. Tap the Logout button in the top-right corner to sign out, then contact the Rectrix Link administrator to restore your account access.

Can I send messages to drivers or contractors from the Tracker app?

Yes. Tap the chat icon in the Home top bar to view and send messages to any user in the Rectrix Link platform. Tap the compose icon to start a new conversation, or tap an existing conversation to continue it. Chat messages are shared across all Rectrix Link apps — a message you send in the Tracker app is received in the Driver, Contractor, and Guest apps.
