10. Guest App — Frequently Asked Questions
The Home screen ("Your Coming Trips") looks empty — does that mean I have no bookings?
Not necessarily. Home focuses on your upcoming trips (the NEXT UP and LATER cards). Holidays that are already finished, or that don't have an upcoming transfer, won't appear here even though the booking exists. To see everything, open the Holidays tab for all your holidays, or the Calendar tab to browse day by day.
I see "No driver assigned for now" below the map — where is my driver?
This message appears when the system cannot find a driver linked to your job for today. The app tries to locate your driver automatically every 30 seconds. You can also tap the refresh icon on the same panel to trigger an immediate check. If the message persists, your driver may not have started the job yet or may not have location sharing active on their device.
The map shows a marker, but the dot next to "YOUR DRIVER" is orange or grey — what does that mean?
The coloured dot indicates how fresh the location data is. A green dot means the driver's location was updated within the last 30 minutes. An orange dot means the last update was between 30 minutes and 4 hours ago. A grey dot means no update has been received for more than 4 hours, or the driver's location has never been recorded. Tap the refresh icon to request the latest position.
The panel under the map says "Locating your driver…" and stays there — is something wrong?
The app is contacting the server to fetch your driver's location. This happens every time the screen loads and every 30 seconds after that. If it stays on this message for a long time, check that you have a working internet connection. Pulling down on the screen will also trigger a full data refresh.
I can see a clock icon next to a transfer — what do the different colours mean?
The clock icon shows the attendance status for the driver or guide assigned to that transfer. Orange means the holiday has started but your pick-up is not yet confirmed. Blue means you have been picked up and the trip is in progress. Green means the transfer has been completed. Red means a no-show report has been filed for that transfer. Tap the clock icon to see the exact time — for example, "Holiday Started At 08:00", "In Progress Since 14:30", "Holiday Completed At 16:00", or "No Show Report Filled At 09:15".
A transfer has no clock icon — what does that mean?
When nothing has started yet, no clock icon is shown at all (there is no separate grey "not started" state). Once the assigned driver or guide begins the job in their app, the icon appears with the relevant time and colour.
I'm seeing "Job not found" when I open a job — what happened?
This message appears when the job identifier passed to the detail screen does not match any job in the local database. This can happen if the job was deleted or if the local data has not finished syncing from the server. Pull down on the home screen to refresh all data and then try opening the job again.
I'm seeing "Unable to load this job" — what should I do?
This message is displayed when a network or database error prevents the job data from loading. It is not an account issue. Go back and try opening the job again after a moment. If the error repeats, check your internet connection or pull down on the home screen to force a full data sync.
I'm seeing "No job selected" on the Job Detail screen — how did that happen?
This message appears when the detail screen opens without a valid job being passed to it. It happens if you navigate to the screen through an unusual path. Go back to the Home screen and tap a trip normally (or open a holiday from the Holidays tab) to reach the correct detail view.
A no-show has been reported for my transfer — what can I do?
When a driver files a no-show, a red clock icon appears on that transfer. You cannot reverse the no-show report yourself through the guest app. Contact your travel agent or the company that arranged the transfer to discuss what happened and to arrange an alternative if needed.
A notification has a blue left border — what does that mean?
The blue vertical strip on the left edge of a notification card means the notification has not been read yet. Unread notifications also have a bold title and a small blue dot on the right side of the title row. Once you tap the notification, it is marked as read and the blue border disappears. The count badge on the bell icon in the top-right corner of the home screen reflects the number of unread notifications.
I accidentally swiped away a notification — can I get it back?
Yes, if you're quick. When you delete a notification, a toast appears reading "Notification deleted — tap to undo". Tap that toast while it's on screen (about 4 seconds) to restore the notification.
The app sent me a six-digit code after I registered — what do I do with it?
The app is asking you to verify your email address. Enter the code sent to the email address you registered with, one digit per box. The app automatically submits once you fill in all six digits. If you did not receive the code, wait for the countdown shown on screen to reach zero, then tap "Resend OTP" to get a new one. The resend timer is set to 120 seconds.
I logged in and the app shows a status message instead of the home screen — what does this mean?
If your account has been placed under review or set to inactive by an administrator, the app shows the Account Inactive screen. The screen displays the status name and description set by the platform administrator. You can tap the Logout button in the top-right corner to sign out and use a different account. To resolve the status, contact your travel agent or the Rectrix Link administrator.
The Recommend tab shows "No Recommendations" — is that normal?
Yes. Recommendations are curated by your travel agent and only appear when there are listings for the date you have selected. Tap the calendar icon in the top right of the screen to switch to a different date. Tapping the date pill resets the view back to today's recommendations.
The registration form has two pages — why can't I skip to the second one?
Registration is intentionally split into two steps. Page one collects your profile photo, first name, and last name. You must fill in both name fields before the Next button advances you to page two. On page two, your password must be at least 8 characters long and both the Password and Re-enter password fields must match exactly before the Register button submits your account.
Will I be asked to confirm before deleting a notification?
No confirmation prompt — swiping a notification away removes it immediately. But it's recoverable: a "Notification deleted — tap to undo" toast appears for a few seconds, so tap it if you change your mind.
Can I edit or cancel my itinerary from within the app?
No. Your travel agent creates and manages your itinerary, so you can't edit or cancel bookings from the Guest app. If a stay, transfer, or flight needs to change, message or call your travel agent (from the Job Detail header or via Chat). You can still rate your trip, download your itinerary PDF, and manage your own account.
What happens when my session expires or I lose network while using the app?
If your authentication token expires and cannot be renewed, you will be signed out automatically and returned to the login screen. This is a security measure and does not indicate an account problem — simply log back in. If the network drops during an operation, the app shows a toast notification with one of these messages: "Connection Error", "Connection Timeout", "Request Timeout", or "Response Timeout". These disappear automatically; once you are back online you can retry.
I see "Too many requests, please try again later" — what should I do?
This message means the server is rate-limiting requests from your device. Wait at least 30 seconds, then try again. If the error repeats across multiple sessions, contact your travel agent or Rectrix Link support.
The app shows "Unauthorized" — does that mean my account was blocked?
Not necessarily. "Unauthorized" means the app could not verify your identity with the server, usually because your login session has expired. Tap logout and sign back in. If the error persists after signing in again, your account may have been deactivated — contact your travel agent to check.
What does the "Not found" error mean?
"Not found" appears when a specific piece of data you are trying to view no longer exists on the server — for example, a job that has since been deleted by the travel agent. Pull down on the screen to refresh your data, and if the item still does not appear, contact your travel agent to confirm the booking's status.
