11. Contractor App — Frequently Asked Questions

There is a thin coloured bar running across the top of the home screen — what does it mean?

That is the data loading indicator. It appears whenever the app is syncing or fetching data in the background, and it disappears once the sync is complete. The bar is transparent when there is nothing loading and shows a faint blue when data is being refreshed. If it stays visible for a long time, check your internet connection or pull down on the screen to trigger a manual refresh.

A dialog appeared asking me to select a transfer — what is this for?

That is the Transfer Selection dialog. It appears when you tap the "Assign Driver" button on a job card that contains multiple transfers. The dialog lets you choose which specific transfer you want to assign the driver to, so you can handle each leg of a job individually rather than assigning one driver to everything at once.

I received a toast notification in the corner of my screen — what triggered it?

Toast notifications appear to confirm the result of an action. In the contractor app they appear after operations such as successfully marking driver attendance, completing a data refresh, or when an error occurs. A green toast means the action succeeded. A red toast means something went wrong, and the message will tell you what. These notifications disappear automatically after a few seconds.

The Inbound Jobs screen shows a filter icon on the date button — what does that mean?

The filter icon on the date button indicates that the date filter is active. When you pick a specific date using the calendar picker, the isFiltering flag turns on and the filter icon appears next to the date. This means the list is only showing job offers for that selected date. To see all offers without a date filter, tap the date button and choose today, which resets the filter back to the default state.

How does billing work — where is the "generate report" screen?

There is no date-range "generate report" screen. Billing is settled per provider and per driver from the Profile tab. Standard Job Billings has a Received tab (a provider bills you — tap Request Payment) and a Given tab (you pay your drivers). Priority Billings covers priority-pool jobs with no pre-agreed rate — when the driver quotes, tap Pay Now. Each billing shows a status of Pending, Paid, or Rejected, and you can open the invoice with View Invoice.

How are the Rates screens laid out?

There are two separate screens, opened from the Profile tab. Inbound Rates are the rates travel agents offer you — they are read-only, and you Accept or Reject them. Outbound Rates are the rates between you and your own fleet drivers; each driver has an edit icon that opens the rate editing screen. Rate offers are grouped into three sections — Pending Response, Active Offer, and Inactive Offer — by their current lifecycle stage. Tap "View Details" on any offer to expand the price breakdown by transfer type (Private / SIC).

The Inbound Jobs screen has three tabs: Pending, Accepted, and Rejected — what is each one for?

Pending shows job offers from travel agents that you have not yet responded to. Accepted shows offers you have agreed to take on. Rejected shows offers you rejected, as well as any that were cancelled by the travel agent. The count in each tab title updates in real time as offers change state.

A driver appears on the Overview map but has no location shown — why?

Drivers only appear as pins on the map if they have both a latitude and a longitude recorded. If a driver's dot is missing from the map but they appear in the Active Drivers list below, their phone has not yet sent a GPS location — either they have not started a job or their location permission is set to "Only While Using" rather than "Always". Ask the driver to check their location settings.

The Active Drivers list shows "Showing cached data" in orange — what does this mean?

This label appears when the app cannot reach the server to fetch fresh driver locations and is displaying the last successfully downloaded data instead. This happens when your device is offline or has a weak connection. The timestamp next to the label tells you how old the cached data is. Once you reconnect, the app refreshes automatically or you can tap the refresh icon to force an update.

I tapped a driver name in the Active Drivers list and a panel expanded — what information is shown?

The expanded panel shows the driver's vehicle, their current GPS coordinates and resolved street address, when their location was last updated (for example "5m ago"), and any active job they are currently on — including the guest's name, pick-up time, and the route from pick-up to drop-off. The coloured dot next to the driver name indicates how fresh the location is: green for within 30 minutes, orange for 30 minutes to 4 hours, and grey for more than 4 hours old.

How do I accept or reject a rate offer from a travel agent?

On the Rates screen, find the offer under "Pending Response". Tap "View Details" to expand the price table and review each transfer type and its price. Then tap "Accept" to agree to the rates or "Reject" to decline. A confirmation dialog appears for both actions. If you accept, those rates become the Active Offer and all previous pending offers for that partner are automatically invalidated. If you reject, you will need to wait for the travel agent to send a revised offer.

Today's Job on the Home screen groups jobs under driver names — why?

Jobs in the Today's Job tab are grouped by the driver assigned to each transfer. Within each driver group, the transfers are listed in time order. Drivers are sorted alphabetically, with any unassigned transfers listed last under "Unassigned". This grouping lets you see at a glance which driver is handling which trips and whether any transfers still need a driver.

I need to assign a driver to a job but I see no assign button on the job card — where is it?

The Assign Driver button appears on the contractor job card. If no button is visible, the job may already have a driver assigned — in that case you will see the driver's name on the card instead. To reassign, tap the driver's name or look for a change option. If the card shows "Unassigned" with no button at all, try pulling down to refresh the screen, as the card may not have loaded fully.

Can I reject a rate offer after accepting it?

No. Once you accept a rate offer, it becomes the Active Offer and replaces all previous pending offers. You cannot reverse this through the app. If the accepted rates need to change, contact the travel agent directly through Chat and ask them to send a revised rate offer. The new offer will go through the same pending-accept flow.

A billing list is empty — why?

A billing list only shows entries once transfers have been completed for that provider or driver. If a Standard or Priority billing list looks empty, check that jobs were actually completed, then pull down to refresh. Priority jobs stay under "Yet to Quote" until the driver submits a quote, so they won't appear as payable until then.

What is the Outbound tab for?

The Outbound tab ("Outbound Jobs — Jobs you have assigned to drivers") tracks work you have dispatched to your own fleet drivers, plus your priority pool. Its tabs are Pending (awaiting the driver's acceptance), Active (accepted by the driver), Priority (jobs published to your priority pool), and Cancelled. The app does not support sending jobs to another contractor company.

Will I be asked to confirm before logging out?

No. On the App Settings screen, tapping Log out signs you out immediately — there is no confirmation dialog on this path. All locally cached data is cleared during logout, so make sure you have finished anything in progress before tapping it.

Will I be asked to confirm before deleting a job offer?

Yes. Tapping the delete action on a job offer opens a pre-delete check panel. The panel loads the current eligibility status for that offer and shows a "Cancel" button (to close without deleting) and a Delete button. If the offer cannot currently be deleted — for example because it is already in progress — the Delete button is disabled.

Will I be asked to confirm before rejecting a rate offer?

Yes. Tapping Reject on a rate offer opens a native platform alert with the title "Reject Offer" asking you to confirm. You can cancel the rejection and return to the rate details, or confirm to reject. Once rejected, the offer leaves your Pending Response section and the travel agent must send a new offer.

Will I be asked to confirm before deleting my account?

Yes. Tapping Delete Account in Settings opens a bottom-sheet confirmation panel with a "Cancel" button and a Delete Account button. Account deletion is permanent — all your data is removed and you are signed out immediately.

What happens when I delete a notification — is there a confirmation?

No confirmation prompt, but the delete is recoverable. Swiping a notification card removes it immediately and shows a toast reading "Notification deleted — tap to undo". Tap the toast to restore the notification before it disappears. Jobs associated with the notification remain accessible from the Calendar and Job Offer screens either way.

What error messages might I see if the app cannot connect to the server?

The app shows toast notifications for network and server failures. Common messages include: "Connection Error" (no network path to the server), "Connection Timeout" (the server did not respond in time), "Request Timeout" (the upload timed out), "Response Timeout" (the server accepted the request but did not reply), "SSL Error" (a certificate problem, usually caused by a network proxy), and "Too many requests, please try again later" (rate limit — wait 30 seconds and retry). For persistent errors, check your internet connection or contact Rectrix Link support.

What does "Unauthorized" mean when it appears as an error?

This means the app could not verify your identity with the server — usually because your login session has expired or the refresh token has become invalid. Sign out and sign back in to restore access. If the error appears immediately after signing in, your account may have been deactivated — contact the Rectrix Link administrator.

The app shows "Server refused" — what does that mean?

"Server refused" corresponds to an HTTP 403 response. It means the server recognised your identity but denied the specific action — usually because your account does not have permission for that operation. If you believe you should have access, contact the Rectrix Link administrator to review your account permissions.
